White House Denies Racial Element to Disaster recovery - September 8, 2005

The White House and US Federal authorities have denied accusations that they ignored the plight of African Americans in the aftermath of the New Orleans disaster.

Government officials immediately hit back at media attacks, with White House Spokesman Scott McClellan saying, “This is a classic case of the media completely misrepresenting the actual situation. Why just yesterday, we rescued Navin Johnson (pictured), a white resident, from his submerged home in Mobile, Alabama.”

Mr Johnson appeared disoriented and was very concerned about the whereabouts of his ‘Mama’. When asked how it felt to be one of the few, or perhaps, the only white local to be left behind he responded, “What? You mean I'm gonna stay this colour?”

An attorney speaking on behalf of the Johnson family stated. “Navin flatly denies the Government’s far-fetched story. He was born a poor black child, and he intends to stay a poor black child to his dying day. He would also like me to say, ‘Don’t trust whitey’.’’

A nervous city official, speaking anonymously, stated, “It was a mistake. You know what it’s like when you leave somewhere in a rush. We were in a hurry. I nearly forgot my iPod. We had a chicken in the oven. Oh come on!! We just forgot the black people… and my Land Rover was full”.

President Bush has now asked Donald Rumsfeld to lead an investigation into the Government’s failings in responding to the catastrophe. It is anticipated that Rumsfeld will blame looters or ‘insurgents’, and then bomb Iran.
