Glastonburrry Comes to Putney - July 1, 2004
As part of the Glastonburrry* festival this year, The Comedy Tree is pleased to announce a week featuring two special Glanstonburrry* comedy shows at the Litten Tree Putney.
Compere Pete Jonas said “We're excited to bring part of the Glastonburrry* Festival to Putney, including rain, mud, crappy toilets, general skank, and if we're lucky, an outbreak of malaria. Why pay £200, travel two hours and camp in squalor just to be entertained? Come to the Litten Tree instead”.
“We also wanted to capture the Glastonburrry* sense of giving something back to the community” explained Jonas. “So we're giving 90% of the profits from this week’s shows to a fat American”. When contacted for comment, co-compere of The Comedy Tree [fat American] E. McElroy was unable to provide any statement, due a very large hot dog in his mouth.
Coming to the special Glastonburrry* Comedy Tree this Thursday is visiting American sensation, from New York City, Ben Bailey (“Well-polished… a maestro of comic timing and a master of the joke-writer's craft” CHORTLE) with Steve Williams, Andy Bone, Janice Phayre with Pete Jonas as MC.
Purchase your tickets in advance with the Glastonburrry* Comedy Tree’s new booking facility powered by ticketweb.co.uk.
* Please note: The Glastonburrry festival at The Comedy Tree has no affiliation with the Glastonbury festival which is somewhere else in England. The other Glastonbury is spelled with one 'r', whereas the Comedy Tree’s has three.
