Bumbling 21/7 Bombers in Court - 18 January, 2007

The jury in the July 21 bomb plot trial was presented with more astonishing evidence today.

CCTV footage from London Underground, which originally appeared on the website YouTube, showed the would-be bombers in series of Jihadi bloopers, in which their ‘contraptions’ repeatedly failed to detonate.

Hapless Hussein, Useless Yousef, Oopsy Omar, Inept Ibrahim, and the two brothers Dhum and Al-Dhummer, deny conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to plant whoopee cushions.

Other footage of the six men showed them attempting to operate one highly complicated, ludicrous device after another, which always had ‘unintended hilarious consequences’, said their attorney. As each device failed, the men ended up burnt to a crisp, squashed flat, or at the bottom of a canyon.

Forensic evidence presented in the case has linked equipment used by the comically ineffectual conspirators to notorious mail order company, the Acme Corporation, investigated by the BBC’s Watchdog in 1965.

Police raids on Hapless Hussein’s home in North Kensington found earthquake pills, jet-propelled roller skates and a large cache of giant rubber bands.

Commenting on the CCTV footage, Juror A (who must remain anonymous) from 11 Station Rd, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1EZ said, “I’ve never seen anything thing like it. The way that Hussein guy kept slipping over onto his arse every time he tried to get up was classic. I thought he was going to kill himself.”
